VANCOUVER – A warning today for drivers from New Westminster Police. If you’ve parked in that city in the past few days you might want to check your credit card statement.

Police say after the city was alerted by a woman that her credit card had been compromised, they found credit card skimmers attached to the pay stations of two parking lots on the east side of the city.

The city inspected all of its lots and found no other skimmers. They say the two skimmers they found had probably been on the machines for the past few days.

Sgt. Diana McDaniel from the New Westminster Police said a metal plate is placed over the top of the parking meter where you insert your credit card and then on the back there is a chip and a battery that can retrieve the card information.
